It has been reported by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) that as many as 20 million Americans suffer from addictive or behavioural disorders, with less than 10% accessing treatment services and over 40% unable to because of the high perceived costs, leaving over 18 million Americans suffering from addictions that can be effectively treated and potentially arrested. The Second Chance Program has been developed to help an underprivileged population get the help that was previously beyond reach, for a reasonable price.
All treatment providers occasionally experience low census, with empty beds negatively affecting balance sheets, overheads and profitability. Freedom Consultancy, owner and operator of the SerenityLoans program and a major stakeholder in client funding, has developed the Second Chance Program to provide clients that need treatment but have no medical insurance, insufficient funds to pay privately or credit to qualify for a loan with a lifeline, through our ability to contract purchase treatment episodes from providers that are experiencing low census and wish to release the potential loss of an empty bed at reduced rates.
Second Chance clients are provided with funding, in part made up of client contribution, discounted treatment fees and guaranteed sponsorship finance. This unique method of funding provides us with the ability to extend the availability of treatment to a larger population while guaranteeing providers a considerable contribution toward the normal fee of an empty bed that would otherwise be considered a total loss.
Second Chance clients are clinically assessed and referred to clinically relevant treatment centers according to a match of contracted rate and program budget.
